A new SVC.com flyer showed up in the inbox today. The best deal in the flyer:
http://www.svc.com/sale.html - is the PSU mentioned above at 1/3 off. IDK anything about its quality.

But I found an interest in some of the other items. Like the new line of fans in the R4 series:
this is the black frame/white blade version: R4-C2R-20AC-GP. C-M claims 90 CFM at 19dB, there are also the usual colors in LED versions with clear frame & blade - I'm skeptical of those specs, but would be glad to hear from those with experience or who have seen or made independent measurements. Priced at ~$10.00 they don't appear to be on special.

Another interesting item was a remote on/off switch for items powered off a standard, 4-pin Molex peripheral connection.

Enjoy,

.bh.

The PSU was a good deal 1.5 - 2 years ago when it was even less than that (after rebate), but for $30, I'd totally avoid it with today's choices.

It's not 80Plus.
It's not Crossfire or SLI Certified.
It has a fairly loud fan.
It's not really up to being stressed anywhere near its 500-watt rating.
It only has a 2-year warranty.

As a backup PSU -- eh, maybe...
