I am looking to buy a new CPU cooler for my upcoming AMD FX 6300. I saw Cooler Master Hyper T4 and Hyper 212X which are easily available here for a price of $ 30 and $38.

I can go for Hyper 212X at higher cost as this is going to be a one time buy but I don't want to go for it if Hyper T4 is sufficient enough already. I don't want to pay the extra money for something I won't need. I plan to keep the CPU at stock speed now and want to have a near silent PC. I will over clock upto 4 GHz later.

The 120 MM fan on both these can run near silent at around 1400 RPM and still give sufficient enough load temps under 45C as found by the reviews. Hyper 212X supports 180W TDP CPU but nothing is written for a Hyper T4 on their website.

Considering I will just install and forget about it, which one should I go for? Currently I have a cooler master Hyper TX3 with 92mm Blade master fan but this gets noisy after 2300 RPM which will be needed to cool FX 6300.

For the small price increase I would go with the 212. Like you, I own a TX3, but I also own a 212. I much prefer the silence of the 212. I have no experience with the T4, but the 212 is a legendary cooler and many can vouch for
that.

I am not usually one to go off of Newegg reviews, but this doesn't look very good, per the unhappy customers.

Reading the reviews, looks as if the problems are with blocking RAM slots when using RAM with big heatspreaders, plus the usual AMD mounting direction. Nothing about the actual cooling. Cooling ability is decent as long as it fits your configuration.

Amazon has it for $20 -$15 rebate = $5 with free shipping (Prime or add filler for $25+). Unfortunately already out of stock.
