Cooler Master Hyper 412 PWM
Cooler Master Hyper 412S
So close, yet so far away...
I like the look of the 412S. Both have widely spaced fins for quieter operation (needs less airflow). Don't like the fan of either. The 412S does not come with a PWM fan, but comes with a "silent adapter" to let the 1300RPM fan run at 900RPM. At least that is better than the Corsair A50 with an adapter that lets the 2000RPM fan run at 1600RPM.
The 412 PWM model does have a PWM fan, but judging by the specs it is the same fan that comes with the 212+, with a claimed range of 600-2000RPM. If it is indeed the same fan, then it will prefer the higher RPM range.
What would be perfect for me would be the 412S heatsink with a PWM fan that ranges from 600-1200RPM and which is usable (through typical BIOS controls) throughout that entire RPM range.
