Bought one for a new Core I5 build. Had originally bought a kit for my Zerotherm unit but didn't like the push pins. The Zerotherm can go back in the original case. Sadly, I destroyed a motherboard getting the Zerotherm out (screwdriver slipped) so now, it cost me $4.99 for bracket (not using now), $47 for new motherboard and $25 for this. Damn, costly experiment!

The plain 212 non-plus model works with AMD 939, but the new model doesn't.

The headline had me excited because I can't find a deal on the older, 212 sans "plus". At my local Microcenter they want $40+ tax for it.

This heatsink is pretty high. My tuniq 120 is a little shorter and barely fit my case and I have the CM 690.

Great heatsink. Allows you to mount vertically or horizontally on AM3 sockets. Cools very well, too.

212+ is excellent... Only a bit hard to figure out how to install. But yeah, works with all current sockets and the price is right. Internet orders appear to be dead, though.

The instructions are in 17 languages. WTF, Cooler Master? 17 languages, really?

Same goes for the case I bought (CoolerMaster RC690).

Even worse, the instructions aren't helpful anyway. I guess the interpreters charged by the word and usefulness.

Otherwise, awesome cooler.

Oh, and I officially hate push-pin coolers. I wrecked the leg on my stock intel cooler (i7 860) trying to get it disengaged - I ended up using a pair of pliers to rip enough of the outer plastic (the semi-clear plastic) from around the black "pin" in order to remove the cooler. I almost made the same mistake as Engineer with a screwdriver, then thought the better of trying to push the black pin back out with a screwdriver.

Good for you. Sadly, my mistake was trying to take the heatsink off of an AM2+ socket. Damn thing was stuck and I couldn't get it to move. I finally moved it...right to the trash can after I killed it! :weeping:

Cooler Master's specs show that it's good for AMD CPU's as well. A friend is sending me a Phenom X4 that could use this.

It's on ad at Fry's B&M's for $14.99. OOS at my local stores in Woodland Hills and Burbank, Ca.

Agree, the installation instructions are poorly written. Especially on how to install the fan clips.
