I installed it, and it's currently running at 44C with Arctic Silver 5 applied onto my processor, which is a INTEL Pentium 4 3.0E Prescott with HT.

CPU TEMP @ Idle: 44C-47C
MB TEMP @ Idle: 28C-34C
Anyone know why? When I read the reviews for Cooler Master Aero 4, people have claimed to have idle temperature as low as 24C..

PressHOTTS typically tend to run hotter than the other P4's. Make sure you're case has good airflow. I would say you at least need one intake and one exhaust. What are your case and system specs? I ran at 40ish degrees Celsius with stock cooler which isn't too bad I guess. I installed a Gigabyte 3D Rocket Cooler Pro and now I hit 32C idle. Might try going a little lower soon.

I have two exhaust fans: one on the back and one on the side of the case.

Currently have my fan running at 3500 RPM~ and temperature remains 44C~55C from idle to load.

how is the positioning of the side fan relative to the CPU? What about in relation to the front intake? I would imagine if it is between the CPU and the front intake you may be sucking out some air that would be better used by your processor. Also, the front intake is positioned in a way that usually goes over the HDD, this can make the air that gets to your CPU hotter than it should be. So this is just by assumption and so I may be talking outa my bum: maybe if you turned the side fan from an exhaust into an intake and had it sleeved right into your CPU you could get the CPU temp lower by providing it with relatively cooler air from outside. This might help if the side fan is positioned just right relative to the CPU, you might not even need to sleeve it.
Do people agree/disagree with this type of setup: front intake (primarily for HDD and NB), side intake (primarily for CPU and vid card), top (if you have it) exhaust, and back exhaust?
