Can anyone with this case comment on the minimum length for ATX and 12V connectors to allow routing behind the motherboard?

According to the specs, the height of 690 is 482mm (~19"). The interior dimensions from the PSU mounting location to the top of the motherboard are only going to be less. Based on that, i'm thinking i'll be ok without extensions as the cables on my Enermax NoiseTaker are 20" in length. Thoughts? I'm planning to order the case tonight and would like to know in advance if I should order 24- and 4-pin extensions (8" extensions are what is available to me). If I don't the extensions, then i'd rather not spend the money and more cables laying around. :)

Thanks.

Or at the very least, would someone be willing to pop the side off their 690 and measure the interior height (from the interior floor of the case to where cables are routed above the motherboard)?

The 690 isn't really designed for cables to go behind the mobo pan - if you meant between the mobo and the pan, then that might work, but there is only about 1/4" to work with there and then there are the sharp, little "trees" on the back of the mobo to think about. There are cable management clips around the edge of the mobo and that is where wires should go. If you put them in the clips, you'll need the extensions. I think I ran my power cables up along the rear panel. The 690 is gone now, so all I have to rely on is my wet storage...

Just measured mine, it's 16-1/2" from floor to the middle of the cable hole at the top.

Here's a pic

I have a Corsair HX520W PSU, the 24-pin cable had plenty of length to route it behind the rear panel but the 4-pin mobo power cable I had to stretch it!

Yup, you'll need the extensions if you use those holes. Or cut and splice some more wire in there.

Thanks Jason. That's pretty much the cabling layout i'm after. And yeah, at <17" the cables on my Enermax should be fine.

I had a 520HX that I used when I was using my 690. I utilized the hole at the bottom & routed what cables I could behind the mb pan.
I think you'll be ok.

Cool. It shipped out today, which is a good thing as i'm getting sick of looking at the Accelero S1 on my desk that's still in the box.

You'll like this case. Be sure to do any modding before you put all your parts in. I'm going to strip mine down this weekend to add a few things, give her a paintjob, and cut out some of the fan perforations for better airflow. If you want to hide the wires for the rear exhaust fan, you'll have to drill a hole like I did (look at the pic I posted again and you'll see it right above the motherboard to the far left.)

I didn't notice the hold for the fan cable - nice touch. The ASUS P5K-E actually has the fan headers laid out pretty well so I should be good as far as the wiring goes for the front/rear fans. I may break out the drill bits tho if/when I put a fan in one of the top locations. From my reading it sounds like chopping out the fan perforations is a common mod and that it can reduce noise a little (clearer path for air to flow). Any mods will probably have to wait until the the spring tho as it's still winter here... -10c overnight. :)
