RP-650-PCAR @ SVC $24.99 + shipping after $30 MIR

This is the older 650W CM PSU, the newer one is the RS-650-ACAA-A1. Main differences are a "third" 12v rail on the RS for SLI certification and higher rating on the +5Vsb for more USB devices. Even with a 3rd rail, 650W is pushing it for SLI/CF on newer cards and both supplies are more than enough for powering any single card out there.

This isn't a modular PSU and if you're thinking of going SLI/CF or have a lot of components in your system with a powerful CPU, you might want to go with something heavier. Otherwise for most systems with a single GPU this is a great deal at $25+shipping without a huge rebate.

I think that depends on your system. For high OC's and OC'ing gpu's and other components you may need more, but for most things at stock specs, this will work fine.

I think 650 is way more than enough for any single GPU setup. Check out what SilentPCReview had to say on 'real world' PSU usage:

Our most power-hungry Intel 670 (P4-3.8) processor rig with nVidia 6800GT video card drew ~214W DC from the power supply under full load ? well within the capabilities of any modern power supply. Please follow the link provided above to see the details. It is true that very elaborate systems with the most power hungry video card today could draw as much as another 60~100W, but the total still remains well under 400W in extrapolations of our real world measurements.

They later went on to test this setup:

Intel Pentium D950, overclocked / overvolted 10% (Presler, 3.74GHz)
Asus P5LD2-VM motherboard
4 x 1024MB Corsair DDR2-6400 RAM
ATI Radeon X1950XTX-512 PCIe graphics
Hitachi Deskstar 7K80 80GB hard drive
WD Raptor WD1500ADFD 150GB 10krpm HDD
Seasonic SS-350ET ATX PSU
1 x 120mm fan

and the maximum was 256w ...and the newer dual core CPUs are more energy efficient (as are the video cards) - this PSU should be more than enough for any setup without insane components and multiple video cards imo

You know what? I just checked and am waiting for SEVEN Cooler Master rebates, dating back to October. Hmmm...

Last set of coolermaster PS's I dealt with 3 of them went bad: the caps swelled and leaked.
So now I'm leery of ever buying their stuff again.
