Cooler Master 590

Thanks for the info - though I wouldn't buy one for me as it lacks a door, I think I would prefer the 590 over the 690...

No problem. I remember seeing a few posts recently about the 590 but the consensus was that the model was not yet available in North America. Glad to see that it's finally here.

I definitely like the exterior of the 590 over the 690. It has even cleaner lines and skips the plastic panel on the top, but i'm one of the weirdos that likes the HDD trays in the 690 so I won't be replacing it any time soon. 🙂
 
I like the style of 690 more than the 590. The metal 'bars' going from bottom front all the way to top rear and the buttons are aesthetically more pleasing. And rubber feet! 🙂
 
Well, one can't put stuff on the top of the plastic bezel and not risk damaging it - even with something in between. And the metal isn't metal - it's "chrome look" metallized plastic.

Yeah. I don't really mind the chrome-look bits on the 690, but I could do without them. Actually, on my 690, the bars on the front/top panel are slightly out of alignment where they meet at the top-front edge of the case. Not a big deal, but it irks me a little. Whenever I get around to tearing my machine apart again (adding some more holes/grommets for cable management and cutting out the stock fan grates) I have half a mind to trim the chrome trim pieces so they line up... and maybe lightly sand/paint them a dark metallic colour.

Edit. Just wanted to add that the 690 still rocks tho. 😉
