Cooler Master 4-in-3 Device Module

On the website they say these can be used in Stacker and other cases. I would love to be able to install 2 of these in a standard case (with enough 5 1/4" bays).

4 in 3

Anyone using these in a non CM case?

Yes, I have used one. It should work fine in any case with three contiguous 5" bays available. If your 5" bays have little lips or ears that separate the bays, they may have to be cut off or bent out of the way. Other cases that use rails to mount the drives should also work fine. The side panels of the cage that are the means of isolating it from the case are the same width as an optical drive so the drive bays have to be open between them.

The fan included is quiet but wimpy, so if you want it to do more than just cool the HDDs, you'll need a stronger one. I had a Sanyo Denki 120x38mm on mine like petrastechshop.com is selling now - I had also put a foam filter on the front. The CM fan would have struggled with that filter on it. I used a gasket-type isolator as when you take out the filler panels for more efficient cooling, parts of some of the fan mounting holes go away - poor design there.

The thing is made of VERY HEAVY metal, so you can look forward to paying substantial shipping. Final thing, the cage does not fill the entire bay at the front - I used some gray closed-cell foam weather stripping to fill the gaps around the fan. The similar-purpose Lian Li 4-HDD cage looks more finished but costs more, but it's lighter so should cut the shipping cost a bit. Pick your take...
