cooler for core 2 duo OC'ing?

I intend to OC my core 2 duo system I'm building. I'm using an e6600, and aiming for maybe 3+ghz, or maybe up to 3.4ghz if i can (read somewhere that 3.4 is where the performance vs. power ratio starts to trail off).

I've been looking at the Thermalright XP-120 heatsink right now. I'll put some high cfm fan on it, of course. Do you think it's sufficient, or is there something else you would recommend for the c2d overclocking?

One of my concerns is that the mobo components around the cpu cooler should also be cooled, so I chose the XP-120 to look at first. If you use a heatpipe cooler, what methods can you use to make sure the mobo components are also kept cool?

um...first: i heard teh E6600 actually DOESN'T overclock that well. second: just read teh forums around here, it has plenty of "What CPU cooler for C2D?" threads

yeah, i heard that, but does that necessarily mean that they perform better? All I've been able to see so far are numbers, but no benchmarks.

Anyway, I'm leaving the processor last, both because I'm not entirely decided on which one to get, and because the prices on the c2ds are steadily declining. I've still got a couple of components left to get.
