Hi all,

I currently use the stock cooler that came with my Barton but I would like to OC a little so what's a good cooler for this CPU? Any suggestions would be most helpful.

I'm using the vantec aeroflow. It's got great reviews and still performs very good despite it being quiet. It's heatsink with a fan ontop.

Are you overclocking with this? I am looking at getting a 2500+ and overclocking it, so i will need a new HSF. I am not going to be able to get a thermalright model (parts store does not carry them), so i am looking for other choices.

I just got a thermaltake volcano 10+ from newegg for $26. It lowered my cpu temp almost 5C, and it's about the same size as the stock cooler (the fan is just a little wider). It is all copper and isn't very loud. It's also AMD recommended and rated up to 3400+!

I am very happy with the Coolermaster HHC-001. It is an all copper heatsink with a heat pipe. With the Asus pc probe my cpu temps 38 c under load.

I just setup a Barton 2500+ rig Saturday for someone. I used the stock HS... I'm going back this weekend to replace it with an SK6+. :|
The stock HS needed lapping big-time. It had to be one of the worst heatsinks I've run across lately.

The SK6+ is silly-cheap, and with a large fan mounted will do a good job cooling with little noise. :D

I'm using an AX-7 w/ a L1A panaflo that's dead quiet and my temps. are great. i'm not OC'ing though, i'm just making a point that a big heatsink w/ ANY fan is good enough for the 2500.
