I need a new cooler for my PowerColor ATI Radeon 9100 128MB AGP4x graphics card because the current fan is loud as hell ... it's coming to the end of it's days. I need a CHEAP and SILENT cooler for this card.

Thanks

ur case doesn't have a side fan? i just use that to cool my card. 9000 low level cards don't need much coolin. disconnected its fan and leave it like that.. i even oc:p

zalman bracket fans also good if u don't have a case with side intake or don't want to cut.

Nope, I have no side intake, I'm running an antec Sonata case. I think that I might, either get the zalman and make sure that it works with my card or just pop in a supersilent 80mm fan underneath the 9100 somehow ... I'd have to find some kind of mounting braket.

Skip to the page titled "The BIG Fan" for an idea.

Yes, I was thinking of something similar, but I just found a few 40mm fans at a store here in spain for 7? so I might just buy one of those and plug it in... but I was wondering, since I have no more 3pin connectors free on my mobo so I was wondering, can I just use a 3pin to 4 pin adaptor that I have without making the fan spin at a higher RPM?

the 40mm Fan I'm Talking about

its called a zalman "bracket" fan for a reason;) metal bracket that screws to pci slot holds a 80mm over the agp/pci area. course u can make ur own ghetto style by bending a pci slot cover too...attach fan using glue or whatever u want. i did that in the past b4 i had a hole.

If your graphics card has the required mounting holes, I would go with the ZM 80c-Hp (or ZM 80A-HP, it doesn't matter really). It's somewhat difficult to install but you get a completely silent cooling solution and will cool your graphics more than sufficiently. And contrary to popular belief it doens't heat up your case because no matter if you have a fan or not your graphics card will still produce the same amount of heat.
