So I downloaded the coolbits hack for nvidia and for fun I just ran the 'detect optimal' test. Now the stock card speed 576 core/1998 memory. After running the test it told me my optimal speeds will be 758 core/1293x2 memory/1600 shader. This seems pretty high. Is coolbits really that accurate?

No it's not that accurate all the time... that's why you gotta do a little work yourself and see if it's stable.

well the settings that gave seem quite high huh? most reviews ive seen got the card to about 700-710 core so this certainly came as a surprise.

Agreed!
OP, you need to do some stabilize testing to warrant that number which seems excessively high.
