I'll be in Augusta next week for work and I always try to get out to see the city I am in. Is there anything good to see? Tripadvisor is failing me on things that are piquing my interest.

I am a history buff, a foodie, love visiting nature sites, etc.

Archery season comes in next weekend. That'd combine two of those, food and nature. Have some property 45 minutes west of augusta, if you're up to sweating in 90 degree heat.

Buy a motorcycle. That's what I did the only time I was ever there. :)

Is there something to do across the river in SC? :p

Thus far I found a couple of civil war sites, but nothing crazy.

Besides my awesomeness, small town USA. Former winter colony for the $$ until the Savannah River Plant started in the early '50s.

What are you looking for? I'm pretty boring....work, gym, 7th grade algebra...repeat. What's your schedule?

Who are you working for in Augusta?

There's nothing cool to do here.

Where are you staying?

As far as nature, go to savannah rapids pavilion. It's a nice walk/run in between the river and the canal. Or you cold rent a bike and ride it. Or rent a kayak.

I think there's a museum downtown but I've never been.

Ill keep thinking but not sure there's much going on here.

I'm off work all next week but I'm boring and I'm not sure if you'll try and kill me. D:

Oh bike rental, I like riding trails so that is an option. The trail along the river looks like an OK trek, too. I'm sure I can find interesting stuff off the beaten path of the track.

If you do decide to go, I think the main trail is about 5 or 6 miles long. But at about 4 miles or so you'll hit the Augusta water works right at some rail road tracks. Turn left at the tracks and go down about 30 yards. You'll see a more "off road" trail on your left. it leads to a 2 mile loop and is pretty fun.

If you can do it earlier in the day let me know and I can meet you there.

I'm here and downtown is pretty sad, a lot of abandoned buildings and amazing architecture rotting away. I had an early flight and a full work day so I have only made it to Whiskey Bar and Kitchen, thus far my kind of place.

Downtown is pretty slow except for First Friday. I think they still do that. The first Friday of every month they have some things going on downtown at night. Last Friday was Border Bash so it was probably pretty crowded near the Riverwalk. Border Bash is when thee cheerleaders and football teams from UGA and SC have their yearly game rivalry.
Speaking of riverwalk. Don't walk it alone or at night. Or maybe just don't walk it. o_O

I moved to Savannah area (Pooler) to work contract at Gulfstream and I'm really not use to this area at all. I guess I'm too much a PNW boy. I been here just a month and haven't really explored GA besides Atlanta, where a friend lives. Other than that I actually don't know what to do outside of work.
