Cool Staples rep!

So my mom wanted me to pick up a digital camera for my dad's xmas gift.. I figure that the fuji a210 would be perfect. Circuit City had it for a reasonable $179 but my local store was sold out. I called up Staples for a price match (they had it for $199) and also wanted to try a coupon code. The rep was a very pleasant guy and quickly pricematched CC's price. I then tried the coupon code out and he started laughing since 10 other people tried to use that same code that day. He said that the code was invalid but suggested that I go to fatwallet.com for more coupon codes! We literally spent 20 minutes trying out codes until we found one worth $5... Not bad I figured.. The total charges with tax came out to $177 including a free "Digital camera kit." Pretty good I thought... Flash forward to yesterday - the same rep called me to tell me that the camera was in stock but that the kit was OOS. He apologized and told me to try to use my invoice to get it from my local store... I assumed that I was out of luck until I got my camera today - they gave me an additional $33 credit for the accessory kit! This guy saved me over $60!

Very cool, there was a same kind of guy who worked at my local OM and then my local Staples. I don't know where he went now, but he'd accept anything that resembled a coupon 😉

Not necessarily, it depends on who the camera is intended for. The Canon A60/A70 are not ideal for every user.

Fuji makes some excellent entry level digicams.

Well, my dad's a simple guy.. To him 2 mp<3.2.. It may be a better camera but he's brainwashed to believe that 3.0 is the minimum acceptable MP.. Of course, it's a gift so he should be happy either way.. Whatever though, I got the gift for 1/2 of what my mom was willing to pay 😉

Yep,
My pal has the a210 and I think digital prints from it look great..Sure, it doesn't have many manual features (or any).. but my dad's a point and shoot kinda guy.. We got him a wonderful Nikon SLR film camera and he doesn't take the think off of auto (what's the point then?!??)... My minolta f100 is still in the shop and I'm regretting the purchase.. My next camera may be either a canon or a fuji- both of them are great in my opinion..

I totally agree.

My first digicam which I still have is a Fuji Finepix 1400. It still takes amazing pics although it's a lowly 1.3MP digicam.

Canon & Fuji for life 🙂

I hated my Finepix 1400. The only thing I liked about it was the size. Other than that it ate my batteries like crazy and didnt take that great a set of pictures. I replaced it with a Kodak DC240 which although is much fatter, takes better pictures (imo)
