yeah... so I found about this site called freeipods.com, and most people (myself included) would be a bit suspicious... but it suprisingly is a legitimate company. it's a fairly large network of sites including freedvds.com, etc.. I know several people who actually have gotten their ipods, and if you google it, many people have as well.
so this is how it works... you sign up for some offer, like an aol trial or stamps.com trial, and once you do that, you have to refer 5 other people to be the same. it sounds too good to be true, but they are getting something in the order of 20$ per referral from these companies * the 6 necessary for an iPod makes 120$. plus you have to factor in all the people who don't get their 6 referrals or just sign up on their own. that might be another 6 per person, totaling 240$. ipods in bulk are something like $200, so you can see how something like this can be pulled off...
annnyway, there is no risk here since you just cancel your stamps/aol/whatever trial within 30 days and you don't have to pay anything. (I canceled my trial after a week)
