Cool radio

Yup, this really works. It took me two tries to get it to work. The first time I tried, it didn't work because I was using "new" headphones. I had to scrounge around a while before I found a set of headphones that worked. Even then, it was barely audible. Kinda cool for 'nostalgia', but definitely not an everyday item.
 
I had built something similiar, I had designed my own variable capacitor and used a crystal (cat-whisker) diode. Other parts used were identical. Barely audible though.....
