Cool & Quiet issue

My Cool & Quiet monitor used to show a boost from 1000Mhz to 1800Mhz when running AdAware.

Now I am running AdAware and AVG virus check at the same time and it doesn't seem to budge from 1Ghz.

How do I know my processor actually goes back to 2Ghz when it's supposed to? I don't want it stuck at 1Ghz when I'm gaming and such.

ok, that is a known issue with cool and quiet. go on the internet, either your mobo manufacturer website, or amd's and download the latest driver. the issue is supposed to be fixed. that happened to me once.

Latest driver? As in a motherboard flash? I've never done that before.

EDIT: should I uninstall/remove my current AMD CPU driver before installing the newer one?

Alright, I DL'd the newest AMD CPU driver (previous one was from April 2004; this one is from January 2005) and the frequency gauge goes back and forth in applications. Seems right. 🙂

ok, go to your mobo manufacturer's website, and download the latest Cool & Quiet Drivers. this should fix the problem. other than that, make sure everything is set correctly in the bios. if it still doesnt work, stop using c&q.

Hmm, weird, when I closed the dashboard CPU and voltage monitor, and restarted it, it works like it should.

The question though is: is this just a dashboard fault or does the CPU and voltage actually get locked and prevented from going up when the dashboard says so? Or is it just not reporting it right?
