im trying to work cool n quiet... i read a site tutorial on how to do it...so far ive goneinto my bios and enabled cool n quiet. ive downloaded the amd processor drivers form their site. i switched my power management setting to minimal. I got a 3500 and it says 1.78 ghz instead of 2.2 but the site siad it should be around 800 mhz or 1 ghz. What am i doing wrong? Im using windows xp sp2. My temperatures arent noticably diffrnet either. the procssor temperature dropped 4 degrees.

That's all you need to do...my 3000+ says 1GHZ instead of 1.8. If the temps are lower, for a better speed, why sweat it? BTW my temps drop around 5.

my 3200 drops to 1000mhz from 2200mhz

it appears you've done it all right, maybe you should check using another program like CPU-Z? sometimes some programs will initiate a check which causes the cpu to speed up abit and then they'll take a snap shot of that moment and show you 1.8Ghz

i have an Asus cool and quiet program that shows you the cpu speed going up and down with load. for example loading a web page i see the bar move up to 1.8Ghz before moving back down to 1Ghz
