Cool looking Motherboard! * is it any good? *

Here it is Future Power KT266A Wonder how it performs? Anyone have it?

it says KT266 chipset which is an obsolete chipset since the KT266A came out. But I look again it also calls it a 266A? I'd call and confirm which it really is since you cannot go past 138FSB (w/o losing USB) with the reg KT266. decent price but worth it for a no name brand (as far as Mobos go that is) mobo I'd Look elsewhere.

if you want to look for a "Cool Looking" Mobo I suggest the Slotek "Purple Ray" KT266A chipset board at newegg for $108shipped which has a purple PCB and super OC potential according to Tom's and then the MSI version is an All Red PCB.

Future Power?? Newegg also carries this under the name Jet-Way that is much cheaper. If it is actually made by Future Power I would say it's junk. Just look at the power supplies they make.

With more and more people cutting out windows in their PC's, I wonder if motherboard makers are going to start going more colorful? I would'nt mind having a snazzy looking mobo if it was stable! So I wont be dumping my 8k7a just yet.

Take a look at Soltek, Soyo or MSI. You can get purple, black, or red. The Jetway board won't be *slow* using the 266A chipset, but I do believe it's one of the slowest. That...and having a little brand recognition and strength behind a name is always nice. Futurre Power/Jetway aren't known for their high quality computing solutions, but their inexpensive ones.

Personally, I wanna see a white PCB with light blue PCI slots and a black AGP.

If you want a good looking mobo, go with the MSI boards. They look cool with a matching red Gainward vid card. Shine a blue neon on them to really make them stand out. The only problem is, normal people don't appreciate them as much. They don't understand that almost all PCB is green.
