cool LED for the living room recommendation, please?

im looking for some nice looking LED for the living room. it has to be modern looking and bright. the room is about 16 x 18 ft, 11 ft high.
trying to keep budget under $500. what are my choices?

Not a big fan of light glaring straight into my eyes, I'd see just about as well with either light off. Bigger fan of wall sconces diffused off ceiling, or at least behind the plain of vision for reading.
