Cool Kerry 'doesn't warm anybody up,' say undecided union voters

From the article:
Results show that Kerry's reputation for aloofness remains a hurdle for the presumptive Democratic nominee - even among his party's core constituencies. And despite the acidity labor leaders direct toward Bush and his policies, the president still appeals to a segment of union members, namely the Reagan Democrats.
Can't argue with this at all. It is a main hurdle that Kerry faces.

Yeah - kerry doesn't come across as a "normal man's man" and I think alot of peple don't like that. It's one of the things he's up against and something that will be hard to change.

Yup. Through the media lens he can't come close to matching Bush's "Aw, shucks, fellah" factor.

Of course, amongst the overwhelming majority of the men who served and fought with and under him, he has inspired an enduring sense of admiration and loyalty. Die hard down home conservative Republicans who served with Kerry would follow him anywhere -- his Band of Brothers -- and have willingly put their personal lives aside to stand shoulder to shoulder with him in his quest for the Presidency.

It is a remarkable testament to the real John Kerry. Just a shame he doesn't have Bush's chimp like endearment going for him.

I'm sure those 5 guys he was with for 4 months will make all the difference😉

Unions support candidates who support the working class.

Republicans used to get a lot of union money years ago.

But they don't anymore for obvious reasons.

Or maybe you mean Unions support candidates who support the Union philosophy. Now as for individuals who are union members supporting candidates - I think there are other issues at play these days that far outweigh voting based on what the Union tells you to do and so the Union has lost alot of it's political pull(or atleast the image it used to have that it had political pull). I like to think this is because people educate themselves on the issues they are interested in now-instead of letting the union tell them how to vote.🙂
