I thought for sure I would never see a Brick style Athlon CPU again...
A friend of my wife had a dead computer, motherboard fried supposedly... "supposedly".... An old Gateway machine, I didn't have my hopes up on what junk may be inside. We picked it up after a party this weekend and I took it home. Opened it up, and wow, lookie, an Athlon Brick! Last one I saw was when I worked for Corning some 5 years back. It just has coolness factor written on it. Too bad it didn't work...
... until I screwed the power supply back into the case, plugged everything in and turned it on. 🙂
So I now have a nice little spare machine to play with. Everything is very clear and in good shape too, which is surprising there isn't more dust built up. Anyone have any spare PC100 laying around? I don't think WinXP will run very well in 64meg...
