On the Empire State one notice how the building lower and to the left seems to be leaning towards it? What is the deal? Did they mesh to pictures together from different angles?

That's correct. Everything Empire and North are leaning to the left, while everything south is leaning towards the right. It's just a matter of where the satellite was when it took the image.
