I am in the market for a new micro shelf home audio system. I don't want anything super fancy because this is just for my bedroom. But i do want it to look cool. I've searched all over the internet, but was not able to find exactly what I was looking for. I'm sick of the regular stereo systems you can get at bestbuy with the big speakers and the huge box of a radio/cd player/alarm clock middle.

What i'm looking for is something that looks like this:

this or like this, except that the Philips is only 1 cd, but i want something with a cd changer, and the JWIN is just some cheap peace of chinese crap that is defective right out of the box (I know, i tried 2 of them from amazon.)

I don't want something that looks like this.

So if you guys know of some good ones from a good company, please let me know. Thanks!!

There's the Onkyo MC35-TECH.

3 disc changer – change two discs while 3rd is playing – possibly noisy disc shuffling mechanism

Or is $319 w/ free shipping too much?

Merely a suggestion, not recommendation.

thanks for the suggestions, but it's not really the look i was going for. and i'm not sure why this costs $300 either, based on some reviews the sounds isn't that great, and it looks mediocre at best.

You're gonna run into two problems:

The first is that most micro/mini systems are only a single CD to keep the product in the the micro/mini segment.

The second is that you use to see the flat systems all the time but many companies are phasing/have phased them out simply because they take more effort to make and don't sell as well as their boxy counter parts.

Yes, that's what i've been seeing. I've really been trying to find something for quite a while now, and have found nothing. I'd be open to any suggestions of not necessarily a micro system, but something that looks classy and modern and kind of radical.

Maybe? It may be a little more than you are looking for, but probably good sound. Denon makes a unit like this as well, if you grab one of their older models, the price would be a bit cheaper. Also, yamaha makes some that are fairly nice, but expensive since they include DVD players now. Personally I'm not a fan of the "cool" one you listed second. Looks too sharper image to me, but if that is what you like, then the sky mall (what you browse as your plane sits for 3 hours on the tarmac) magazine may be a good place to look, I wouldn't have the slightest idea on what the sound quality would look like.

Good luck
