vi_edit,

good deal man :)

I have been meaning to ask, does anyone know the real differences between the Inspiron's and the Latitudes?

pillage2001, that would be nice, but since it's for work I'd rather not buy a $1700 used laptop off of someone in the fs/t boards.

pillage2001, I have bought quite a few cheaper things, such as modems, floppy drives, CDROMS, ect, off of FS/T for work. They aren't too big of an issue.

But, since almost anything needs to have a paper trail/invoice of somesort, especially 2 grand worth of computer equipment, it's best to go through the retail channels and get all of the receipts and invoices that accompany the machine.

Nice laptop, you do know however, that that thing weighs a ton! Trust me, after carrying one around for a while, it feels like a bag of bricks hehe. That being said, it is still a kick ass machine!

<<how does the M4 video compare to nvidia's upcoming chipset?>>

The M4 is an ATI Mobility 128 that is capable of a max of 32MB frame buffer (2x the 128's 16MB max) and able to operate at AGP 4x instead of the 128's AGP 2x. Both the M4 and the 128 are based on the Rage Pro 128 chip, and they are definitely NOT like the upcoming mobile Radeon. I'm not even all that sure that AGP 4x is any advantage to the M4, given that the 128 certainly doesn't seem to be limited by bandwidth (the chip itself is the limiting factor). So basically, the M4 is a Mobility 128 that is capable of a larger (32MB) frame buffer. Still, it's a nice chip, the 128 in my ThinkPad A21p is great, and it drives the ThinkPad's 1600x1200x32 LCD beautifully.
