Recommendations for cookware for my wife for xmas?
Someone mentioned that calphalon was really good, but they have so many different levels to choose from..

Help!

(p.s. she asked for cookware - I'll get her some other more personal items as well)

I'm not sold on the calphalon though... been reading reviews.. people have claimed they're ruined after just once in the dishwasher..
Is the environment in the dishwasher THAT harsh?? Apparently they cook great, but need to be pampered?

Anyone else's experience?

I've got a bunch of it, love it, just don't buy the "everyday" or "essentials" Calphalon, it's el cheapo, bottom line stuff.

We have a mix of SS & anodized, I have to say I like the anodized better.

The anodized is not diswasher safe, and they don't recommend it for the SS stuff.

Anodized aluminum isn't dishwasher safe? What the hell?

Well, according to the reviews, the Calphalon cutting boards I have should be warped by now. 😉

I don't know about the cookware but I don't put the cutlery into the diswasher (no problems with the knives) and the cutting boards are still as flat and level as the day I got them.

Who the hell wants pots & pans that need special care and utensils? Screw that. We've used the same set of Revere Cookware for 26 years, and it still looks as good as new. I can use any type of utensil, and scrub them with the coarsest steel wool, if I so desire. Meanwhile, everybody I know who uses Teflon, or anything like it, are buying one set after another whether they baby them or not.
