stir fry it with some ginger and green onions

Good idea but only if he has a gas cooker. Not sure about the states but most of the student halls here are electric and they just suck!

Boil that bitch for about 20 minutes. Depends if it was *fresh* from a fish market or was it frozen. If it was frozen he'll have to cook it longer and it will taste nothing like it was fresh. Fresh is THE ONLY way to go.

I had crab today and thought it tasted different and it turns out it was frozen and not fresh. When I mean fresh I mean we buy the crab still alive and I have to kill it myself then boil it.

Oh yeah. I prefer lobster cantonese, myself. Or maybe with some black bean sauce and green onions.

I'm kinda pissed about the electric stoves i'll be using at college. You can't make any good chinese food without a gas burner. Plus, a wok doesn't exactly fit on an electric burner.

You should take a look at getting an induction wok if you are serious about cooking chinese. They heat their contents really quickly, but are still safe. If you insist on cooking over a gas fire, look into getting a camping stove.
