The only problem is they try to get you to pay for another year at full price so you gotta find a backup host. Do the host shuffle ... Pain but well. I suppose it's the price you gotta pay to be on the cheap.

Order any of our yearly web hosting plans using the coupons below and get a special discount!
After the first year you'll be able to renew at the regular price, we do NOT automatically rebill.

Plan----RegularPrice...............90 Day Money Back...Coupon Code...............Your Price
Mini Plan----------$39.95/year......More Info...................mini.................Only $5/year!
Midi Plan............$69.95/year......More Info...................midi..................Only $8/year!
Maxi Plan...........$99.95/year.......More Info..................maxi.................Only $10/year!

No Catch, No Strings Attached, No Hidden Fees!

The good, is they don't AUTOMATICALLY rebill ... So no getting hit with a HUGE Fee on the credit card if you forget to cancel your sub.

not to thread crap but i took up a similar offer from cookie host two years back and i had really bad experience with them.

slow servers, odd downtimes, and really crummy support - you pay for what you get.

hmmmmm, maybe they upgraded their servers from the last time I was with them, it wasn't bad. But maybe they were putting the 5 dollar accounts on slow servers?

Aw, you have to pay a $10 domain registration 🙁 I was gonna make a site for all my family in the Philippines to contact me through and post pictures and such 🙁!

Same here, we couldn't rely on them and had to move.

They have many, many, MANY servers...sleepkyng could have been on one of the problem matic ones, or an old one...who knows.

I just re-upped with them, they've been very responsive on the few occasions where I had to open a ticket.

What are you talking about? Just go to Go daddy and grab a CHEAP .tv domain or whatever 1.99 spacial they got and then set that to Cookie host servers and your done.

This is a Host deal not a domain deal. You don't need to register your domain the same site that you host.

I read on another board Cookie Host had some issues when they first starting getting popular and apparently those have been resolved for a while now. Most of the current reviews I've seen have been really positive. I might take up this deal just because it is a steal and it's always nice to have some extra web space.

That deal sucks ass....

35 bucks a year vs 5 dollars is a no brainer. I can thread crap on your deal since well, It's my thread! hahahaha No hosting is worth 35 bucks maybe 10 bucks ... Unless your doing a porn site or something.

Question: I have a cookiehost site I started last year that expires this July. I got in on last year's $5 deal. Any chance I can renew for this year using this $5 deal, or would they make me pay the whole $40? I'd have to find another hosting service then.

Seconded.

They disabled my account twice because it was causing the server to crash and we do get a fair amount of visitors. I have moved on to a VPS and am not looking back. Horrible for medium to large sites, great for small personal sites where you don't care about the server specs and can live on PHP5/MySQL4 ( I use mod_wsgi/pylons and a whole bunch of custom crap on my vps ).

To me it's completely about quality of the service per $ I'm giving. The reason why most shared hosts offer such great deals is because the majority ( 95% ) of people have small sites that don't even use that great deal of bandwidth which allows them to capitalize on the offer ( Think of the # of users ).

No hosting is worth 35 bucks maybe 10 bucks ... Unless your doing a porn site or something.

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

It's clear you haven't ever managed any fairly large websites. It's ok, people will always make ignorant statements.

It's also CLEAR that you haven't read the terms and agreement. NOTHING is "unlimited" and if it was then why doesn't you tube sign up? You think they could handle that? Yeah? Why doesn't anandtech sign up? Think they could handle that? NO!!!

These 5 dollar accounts are ONLY for small websites. Get a grip and a clue...
