Cookbook for a 13-year old?

My 13-year old niece is really getting into cooking (she always wants to help with dinner, and she loves the Food Network), so I thought I might pick her up a cookbook. I know I could get her a regular one, but I was wondering if someone knew a simple cookbook that doesn't have 100's of recipes to overwhelm her. Also, the food type would have to be pretty basic- her family would hopefully be eating these dishes, too, and they don't do spicy or uncommon dishes (well, uncommon to western Massachusetts) among other things. Both Emeril and Rachel Ray have books geared toward younger audiences, but I was wondering if anyone had a cookbook they could recommend. Thanks!

Those 30 Minute Meals are usually within the range of new cooks. There are tons of those books around.
