<< Just when I am thinking about proposing ... >>

Don't get me wrong, marriage isn't bad. We have 2 beautiful kids, a nice house, we rarely fight. Just this computer is SO SLOW that it frustrates the hell out of me. I'm talking about firing it up, going to take a leak, go downstair to get a beer, come up and it's still booting up! The hard drive is always chattering away to slow things down even more.

I've priced a computer for $796: crucial 256 mb DDR PC2100, epox 8k7a, amd t-bird 1.2 ghz (266 fsb), antec sx830, nvidia geforce 2 ultra 64mb ddr, ibm deskstar 75gxp 60gb. Plus cables, keyboard, mouse will put me around $840.

That will give me decent performance for years to come, and I may not have to go through this for a while. Plus I will actually be able to play a 3d game for the first time (and I am not joking here).

Do what I did. I just pestered her about it for about 2 months straight. She eventually got sick of me begging and let me buy a new one!
