Convince me to keep or return my ps3

I was out of work when the PS3 60 and 40s came out and I wanted BC.

I did not buy one until the MGS4 bundle came out. It was sold out all around Denver so I called my girlfriend who was in Minnesota on a business trip. People in airports were walking up and asking here if she would sell it to them.

I have several PS 1 games that I have bought off of PSN too.

BC is important to some people.

Cost is next to nothing, what it hurt was their sales of old ps2s. They could have easily emulated it too, its not like there aren't already several ps2 emulators for the pc.

There is only one and the compatibility list only has 66% of games as fully playable out of 2293 titles. The GS's eDRAM has 48GB/s of bandwidth which probably makes LLE impossible. As big as the PS2 library is pushing out a barely functional emulator would cause a lot of head aches (no one is going to check the list if their games work before getting rid of their PS2) compared to MS which just needed to make sure Halo worked.

Based on your post don't you fall into the "already got a BC system long, long ago" group? Or did you get one of the gunmetal bundles that don't have BC?

I have the BC PS3 80gig that came out bundled with Metal Gear Solid 4.

If I could buy another new PS3 that was backwards compatible with the PS2 I would over buying another non-BC PS3.

Rent Uncharted, uncharted 2, Valkrie Chronicles..

After you've finished those, there's no reason to have a PS3 so return it.

I actually did play those, and thought they were MEH. Not really my style of game to be honest.

What do you mean "seems like"... that's exactly what they are. It's a means to get a consistent gaming machine for $300 (or less) that's plug and play. This generation they also have the added bonus of adding some solid HTPC features available by default. The PS3 even has a browser

Anyway, this is a stupid thread. Basically a way for the OP to bitch and start a PC v console flame war. Why it was moved and not just locked is beyond me.

Because it wasn't a flame war. I was seriously trying to enjoy the ps3, yet no one could give me a good reason why I should absolutely keep it.

That's everyone's point, you should have known that before you got the system. So tell me, what PC exclusives have you "absolutely psyched?" There are great games coming out for every medium, but I can't think of any mega hits that I can't play on a console.

I hate to break it to you, but Blizzard has been hiring console staff specifically for Diablo 3 for some time now...

That was the first game I thought of, too, and assumed it would be the one you would mention .

Counter-strike source, world of warcraft, eve, tf2, battlefield 2, SW:TOR (soon)

All games I still play/will play on my pc.


Besides, anyone who plays D3 on a console is a heretic and should have their eyes cut from their skulls.

Basically, any game that is coming out, or has already come out, I already own on my PC so there is no sense buying it on console. Someone said Uncharted, but I really am not a fan of that game at all. GT5 we already know how I feel. What other exclusives are there? Only exclusives, because if a game is available on PC I would rather just buy it on PC.

I did, wasn't a fan. Too dark, lighting was terrible.

What other exclusives are there? Only exclusives, because if a game is available on PC I would rather just buy it on PC.

There's a full list. Not saying every game on there is great or anything, but there are quite a few gems that you can't play on PC.

according to that source there's 221 xbox 360 exclusives, 187 PS3 exclusives, and 365 Wii exclusives.

with just a quick perusal, the xbox 360 has a lot of sequels..
