Convince me not to buy a Dell 1905FP for $215.

Please. Best price of the year; but I've got a 15" DVI flat panel already (and I'd have to get a dual-DVI card for best results).

Even through all that, I still want to buy it.

🙁

EDIT: forgot to add that next day shipping is free as well.

Um...the 1905FP ghosts. Don't buy It, I've heard lots of complaints....

Now, the 2005FPW, on the other hand 😀

Go, go, go!

Dell is reportedly using 8ms panels in the v.2 of this display.

I wouldn't jump. Not when the 2005 is so much better and at such a low price ATM.

Haha, I like that justification...don't buy that monitor now, spend MORE money LATER to get a BIGGER one!

No point in spending $200 on a monitor that might be okay when you could spend $375 on a monitor that is DEFINITELY way better 😉

I personally believe the increased native resolution is quite worth it (though I confess I am more a fan of UXGA than WSXGA+).

Widescreen is damn cool...

but I'd have to wait, as I'm not comfortable dropping $400 (including tax) for a monitor right now. That's $150 more than I thought I'd be spending tonight. 🙂

When the 2405FPW drops to under $600 or so, I may upgrade as it supports WUXGA (and would match the vertical resolution of my DTR like the 2001FP's do).

It definitely seems like a waste to spend twice as much right now for four extra inches of real estate (I'm talking about a 2005FPW and the 2405FPW).

It depends. Much is likely personal preference.

For comparison, here is a side by side comparison.
