Hi

I got a WD 120 HD with SATA and my problem is that my Motherboard is IDE only . I know that the're cards with SATA converters but I do not have any open slots. My question is, Is there a cable that coverts SATA to IDE? If so can anyone point me to the right direction? I tried ebay already and they only have the convertor cards.

thanks in advance

That's probably what you'll have to buy if you want to use the WD in your PC.

If you haven't opened it yet, consider returning it for the equivalent WD PATA model. Welcome to the Forums :)

I think this is what you have in mind. Although I couldn't tell you a GOOD place to purchase it. Also, why didn't you just purchase an IDE drive? :)

I think they have ATA -> SATA adapters, but not the other way around. I imagine if you go to the forums you could find someone willing to trade you for a PATA model, since they tend to be more expensive.
