Convertor for ATA to IDE Mother board

Hi

I got a WD 120 HD with SATA and my problem is that my Motherboard is IDE only . I know that the're cards with SATA converters but I do not have any open slots. My question is, Is there a cable that coverts SATA to IDE? If so can anyone point me to the right direction? I tried ebay already and they only have the convertor cards.

That's probably what you'll have to buy if you want to use the WD in your PC.

I think this is what you have in mind. Although I couldn't tell you a GOOD place to purchase it. Also, why didn't you just purchase an IDE drive?

I think they have ATA -> SATA adapters, but not the other way around. I imagine if you go to the forums you could find someone willing to trade you for a PATA model, since they tend to be more expensive.

Yeah, you need a PCI SATA controller card, or a different hard drive.
