Converting XP Pro to MCE 2005

I am currently running XP Pro but would like to go to MCE 2005. Is there a way to do this without formatting and installing MCE?

Although the preferred method would be to do a clean install, yes, you can simply choose to upgrade to MCE 2005 from XP Pro.

Edit: Apparently, there's some disagreement on this point. I just found a thread HERE indicating such. 😕

Clean install is the way to go.

I can just do that with the MCE disc?

Supposedly, yes, but see the link in my previous post. I have the Action Pack but haven't tried the upgrade. My preference is for clean installs anyway. I was planning to do an MCE install on Sunday.
