Converting .wmv to .mov

I know that the River Past video cleaner works but I need something that is free. The trial version of the video cleaner leaves a rather obnoxious watermark on the video in a quite inconvenient spot. If anyone could help, I would appreciate it. Yes I did use search, but the ones I found were mpeg to mov or mov to avi, etc.

I'm just thinking out loud here.. aren't there licensing issues with apple quicktime ? If so, I doubt there would be a freeware tool for it.

I hope you are wrong... Damn you public schools and using old imacs in the av lab. Granted they are probably better for adobe, etc but I hate iMovie!!

this is a pretty tough task... generally my opinion is, once a video turns into a a WMV or ASF, you might as well just enjoy them the way they are, because converting BACK to a different format has become almost impossible thanks to MS making sure that programs like Virtual Dub no longer support decryption of these formats.

But why convert to MOV? Its better than WMV, but not that much better.

See my second post. Though it was kind of vague. With River Past Movie cleaner I lost no quality, even with the free version, it just leaves a nasty watermark and I don't want/can shell out the money for it. I need it for a commercial I'm making for my finals project for my graphic design class. And they have macs in our av lab and make us use iMovie and it doesn't support wmvs.
