Converting WMC Files

Thinking about starting to convert some of my WMC library via handbrake to save up some space. Anyone else do this, what settings do you use? Would like to keep a good quality while compressing with one of the newer formats.

I'd advise just using built-in h265 default profiles for the appropriate resolution. They're usually around CF20-22 which is perfectly fine for normal use. The original stream isn't exactly close to raw anyway.

That's assuming you're fine with h265 playback on your intended devices, otherwise use h264.

Playback would be either on desktop or 360 extender.
If you have to support extender then you're fairly limited in what you can achieve, however it can do 1080p h264 30fps 10Mbps and has to be in a compatible container like WTV or mp4 is ok I believe. So you should still get significant gains on h264 over the MPEG2 massive 1080i files and de-interlace during the process as well.

First attempt at default handbrake settings didn't work so well. Slight degradation of video quality but the audio was made out of sync which is very annoying to watch.
