Converting to DVI

A Tree

Since Thanksgiving, it's been my desire to make my shiny new Samsung flat panel LCD the only radiant screen around here. Right now, I've just got it hooked up to this computer. Soon, however, I intend to buy a Wii, and I'd like to hook it up to this. Problem is, this monitor has only DVI & VGA inputs. Any way I can convert from S-Video or Component to DVI/VGA? What would be the most cost effective to make playing off the Wii on this monitor possible (i.e. little/no lag).

Thanks.

You can get component->VGA transcoders (often crudely referred to as a "VGA Box" 😛). Probably your best bet for hooking up a game console to a monitor. Essentially zero lag, since it's all done in hardware.

What he said. You can also get a transcoder that will output DVI, but that shouldn't be necessary since the signal from the wii would be analog to begin with. Also, you'd probably want the DVI input for use with your computer anyways.
