How long does that normally take? Is it a better idea just to burn everything I have, format the drive, then convert it using fdisk or some other program and reinstall everything? NFTS is very slow on my IBM drive for some reason compared to how fat32 used to be.

the lost in speed which is normally very minimal is far outweighed by the gains you get from sticking with ntfs. Have you tried using a good defragmenting program such has disk keeper yet?

And partition magic will convert it from ntfs to a fat32 drive rather nicely.
