Is it possible to convert iTunes music to MP3s? The iTune's file types are m4ps. Weird... I know.. But I have been searching the net for everything, and it is giving me complicated methods. Isn't there a program?

The only reason I have music from iTunes is because I couldn't find it anywhere else, and it was free. Please help. Thanks.

The easist way is to burn the tracks to CD, and then rip them to MP3's from another computer, no?

Are they DRMed or ripped from a CD?

If you ripped them from a CD, just use something like EAC with LAME to make them MP3s (no loss of quality from the compressed to compressed format).

If they are from ITunes, google for answers, or just burn the files to a CD and rip them as MP3s (but that will result in further loss of quality since the tracks were originally compressed as M4ps (or whatever it is)).

Or certain programs could be used to locate MP3 versions of the particular songs that you want to convert, but this is not the place to discuss those.

I tried those certain programs and surprisingly none had them. Also, they are directly from iTunes and come out as M4Ps..

I think you are more or less stuck. The CD trick works; but it's a huge pain, and the double lossy compression sucks. It's quite illegal to break the DRM, and Apple ain't exactly making it easier as time goes on. Doing a direct record from line out(particularly if you've a digital out and in that will work) will save CDs; but will be even slower, and still involve degredation.

Buy music that won't screw you over FTW.

I always used the CD trick but ya, it kinda screws with the sound.

Now I more or less use iTunes to "shop" for CDs. I look around untill I find something I like, preview the songs and if I like 85-90% of the songs on the CD I go out and buy the CD. Saves me the hassle of getting the DRM off so I play the music on my MP3 player, and sometimes Apple really ****s up the encoding and the songs sound like CRAP.

If apple would get rid of DRM and encode the music at 320K I would be more than happy to buy more songs from it.

Burning it to CD vs straight conversion should have no impact whatsoever on sound quality - It's double lossy either way.
