I have ventured into the GoPro world but I have no idea how reduce the files sizes. I have 12GB of movies and I want to be able to share them either on YouTube or Facebook. I'm sure there's a simple way to do it on my iMAC but I be too stoopid. How do I do it?

Thank you

GoPro files are actually already pretty small compared to the bitrate of other HD cameras, such as DSLRs.

Just upload what you have to Youtube, they handle the conversion into a file small enough to stream on their own.

You are suggesting the OP upload 12GB to the internet?

I'd use this, http://handbrake.fr/ compress to about 600MB per 1hr of video, should be pretty good, or do 1GB. You can upload a good 720p version or so.

Reduce the resolution or length... I've got like 50 Gb of raw GoPro footage in 720p. Shrinking them down to 480p will cut the size by a ton and still look good in a YouTube sized screen, play-ish full screen.
