Converting GIF to AVI

I'm trying to convert an animated gif to avi. However when I convert it the avi has a lot of green and only parts of the picture are the right color. Does anybody know what's happening? How do I fix this?

What are you using?

If I were doing it, I would import the GIF sequence into my video editor. If the GIF files were larger than 720x480, I would create a 2d effect to resize them and drop it on the timeline for that sequence.
