The title says it all, I like to know if there is a good program that would allow me to convert recorded TV shows or movie from DVR-MS to another format that can easily be ported to other media reader. ( standard DVD or a computer that is not equipped with MCE or WMP ). This will also allow me to get a more compressed end product.

Free would be better but I don't mind paying if it's really worth it and not too expansive.

I have the same question, any DVR-MS to ISO? Maybe this question would be answered in the A/V section

A dvr-ms file is just a mpg file w/ metadata (and or DRM). You can use VideoRedo (it can cut commercials out too), but costs $50. A second option is to use the DVRMSToolbox which is free. You could even just rename the file to .mpg and you *should* be OK.

The question about DVR-MS to ISO is confusing, an ISO is normally just a CD/DVD image file.
