Converting DVDs

Hi, I copied the .vob files off of a DVD (don't worry, it's not a movie, that's why I was able to copy the vob file without ripping it) and it's huge so I want to convert it to .avi or .mpg. I used MPEG2AVI to convert those vob files to xvid but there's no sound. So is there anyway I can do it with sounds or can you recommend another easy to use program that will convert vob files -> .mpg or .avi?

I'm going to edit my previous response since there was a confusion on my part. What I meant by audio filters was that when you use mpeg2avi, you have to extract audio from dvd (either using AC3Decode or GraphEdit) and multiplex (merge) the audio w/ video using virtualdub.

The audio configuration I mentioned refers to a GUI version of mpeg2avi/AC3Decode (available here.

This is a good place to get instructions on using mpeg2avi.

I didn't even see any sound option in MPEG2AVI...can someone walk me through this really quick on installing an audio filter to use with MPEG2AVI?

Thanks for the update, Doh. I was looking at your link when it said I have to have all these programs to download. Not to sound lazy, but is there just one single program I need to do the whole conversion from .vob -> .avi without jumping through hoops?
