Converting DVDs into AVI ... what do I need to do to make fast-forward work in MCE ?

Hi guys,

I am currently converting my DVD collection into AVI by using autogk. But I noticed that if I try to play the file in MCE 2005 (I use My Movies to catalog my collection), it doesnt allow me to fast forward or rewind the movie I am watching. The skip chapter option works, but it skips the file forward by 30 or something second. Is it possible to make this work? Am I encountering a file format limitation ?

Try a different player, if it works you know it's not the files... what codec are you using, divx? 5.1? 6?
