Converting Dell PowerEdge Server or Workstation case into Gaming rig?

Yes I know it sounds crazy, but I have this sick twisted desire to turn a Dell PowerEdge server case, or Precision workstation, into a gaming. The question I pose to you guys is...can it be done? Dell cases are designed to accomodate Intel motherboards and such, but I can't see why it wouldn't fit an AMD x2 proc/mobo. I would need to buy my own power supply, I'm certain of that. But that would be no different than building your own box from the ground up anyway.

Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

This is a better pic of it. From the looks of it though, you got your work cut out for you. The hack wouldn't be impossible. But would require some clever mod schemes by you. Check out this thread.

Might want to make this thread your Project Log. This might turn out to be fun. :)

EDIT: The last link to the thread isn't the same chassis. But, I bet the I/O panel is just as propriatary.

Thanks for the link. Hmm. This could prove more challenging than my capabilities. I know how to ASSEMBLE a PC, but having to cut metal..and make extensive mods to fit hardware is another matter entirely.

if you're worried about the metal cutting, just buy a nibbler tool, or a dremel, and take your time with it.

No, I haven't changed my mind. I'm not sure I will actually go through with it, but I am still keeping an open mind to it.
