Converting cash to check???

I just sold my laptop to someone locally, and he paid me straight up cash for it. The problem here is that I bank with USAA, and I need to mail in my deposits to them. Is there any free way that I can get this cash converted to a check? I know that I can do a money order/cashier's check, but those both have fees associated with them as I recall.

Thanks!
