Converting AVI to DVD(vob) files

I am trying to covert an avi file to vob files i can then burn to an iso. I know I could just burn the avi to a dvd, but my standalone player doesn't support avi files. I am not sure if I am looking at this all wrong, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. I guess a quick search could've found me this info. I had heard of ConvertXtoDVD but I wasn't sure if there were any others.

Ya, WinAVI does a good job. once converted, you just burn the files to a disk like any normal data disk, you don't want to make a .iso disk
