Converting ATA/IDE HDD to SATA

What is the best way to convert an IDE interface drive to serial ATA? I've seen a couple of devices that do this. Would I be better off using an IDE host adapter for RAID or just buy the IDE to SATA converters? Thanks.

I would think IDE->SATA adapters.

however, you'd probably have some iddues with the drive letters and stuff to straighten out.
