Converting Annual fee credit card to Non-Annual fee card?

I have an Amex Delta Skymiles credit card with an annual fee of $80. Is there anyway to convert it to a non-annual fee credit card?

I don't use the card and I don't want to close the account.

If you want an Amex non-annual fee credit card, call their customer service and ask them for a "product change".
